Elana did her first haircut at age 15 when her friend’s little brother asked for a new look. Admittedly, it wasn't her finest work, but it definitely ignited her passion for hair. Elana graduated from beauty school in 2001 – despite having already earned a BA in fine arts three years earlier – and after apprenticing in NYC, she returned to San Francisco to continue her career and open her first fabulous salon, Hair Candy.  In 2011 she moved back to her hometown of beautiful Laguna Beach with her family and opened her second Hair Candy Salon in Corona Del Mar. As of October 2018, she has expanded her business and moved into her new salon, The Style Collective Laguna Beach in North Laguna Beach. Elana loves creating beautiful hair color and haircuts. She focuses on giving her much-loved clients what they want - whether it's a simple trim or an extreme makeover. She specializes in ammonia-free Hair Color, and Special Effects (vibrant-colored hair). In her free time, Elana loves going to the beach, dancing, making art, creating jewelry, and being with her daughter.
